Katzkin Leather Interior

With the “death” of the stock leather bolsters, I worked with Pete at Blue Ribbon Auto, who in turn worked with Katzkin and Dodge to get new interior. Took awhile as Katzkin hadn’t released the Hellcat patterns for the Challenger, only the Charger, until recently. It’s hard to see, but the blue perforation is in the leather holes. It’s a really cool detail that I wasn’t expecting – I was expecting the whole insert to be blue. I much happier with this look; much more subtle. Pete had to go to Dodge for permission to add the Hellcat logo to the headrests.

Hydrodipping!

Mike over at RI Hydrodipping worked on my fuel rail/engine covers, and they look amazing! Went with an Indigo Blue based carbon fiber weave, and it looks just perfect! I highly recommend his work.

MHF Auto Lighting Carbon Fiber Steering Wheel Bezel

Really nice piece. Went with the red SRT decal to compliment the gauges and add a little pop. My only disappointment is that I couldn’t order it in satin finish to compliment the rest of the CF interior. I might pull it back off one of these days and give it a satin clear coat spray. Super easy install: took a T10 and T15 torx driver and about 10 minutes.

Billet Technologies Catch Can

Looks great. Would I recommend Billet Technologies? Maybe if you were buying something in stock that wasn’t a factory paint match. Took almost 6 months to get my catch can, and then it was flawed. Had to wait another 1.5 months for a replacement. Their customer service was good, and didn’t require me to send back the original, so I have some spare parts.

Super easy to install, I just followed the video on their website. Took 30 minutes as I watched the video in full once, then ran through it again step-by-step for the install. I think it could be done in under 20 minutes.

Theft Attempt

In May of 2023 we traveled to Denver to celebrate a friend’s graduation (Teaching Degree). We selected a hotel out by the airport that had gated parking and a guard that patrolled the lot 24×7. We had also had Compustar with Drone Mobile installed the week prior.

We arrived at the hotel in the middle of the afternoon on Friday, dropped off our luggage, then left for shopping. We returned at about 8:30PM, and parked Saffyre in the rear where we could see her from the hotel room (we were on the 9th floor). At 4 AM my Drone Mobile alerted me that the sound detector had triggered. I looked out the window and there were two Durange Hellcats (one black one white), and someone trying to pop the hood on the car. I ran down while Megan called the front desk to report the theft attempt. The guard met me at the door as I was heading out back.

They apparently had a look out as when we rounded the corner of the hotel the two Durango’s took off. They jumped a curb to get around the gate and were gone. They left in such a hurry they left their tools.

We called the police, Denver PD, and they were absolutely useless. There were finger prints all over my car, but forensics (CSI) wouldn’t come out unless there was blood. I received a call about a month later asking if I had seen the Durango’s in the area again. I informed the detective that I was in Montana and didn’t actually reside in the hotel. “Oh” was all I got. Completely useless.

We were supposed to stay for the weekend, but after that experience we went to the commencement ceremony, had lunch with our friend, then just left.

It took until August for her to get repaired, but she looks great again.
